“The calciner of Longshan Carbon Company produces a large amount of waste heat, and the temperature can reach more than 900 degrees.  If it is discharged, it needs to go through a series of processes such as desulfurization, denitrification and cooling, which is costly. The project uses the waste heat of flue gas in the production process of carbon calcination. Power generation through waste heat boilers, the amount of electricity generated for the production of carbon and graphitized electrodes, this system in the recovery of the large amount of waste heat generated in the production process of the calciner, while reducing the thermal pollution of the carbon industry and dust pollution, not only Bringing huge economic benefits to the enterprise, and also bringing huge environmental benefits to the surrounding environment," said He Jun, dean of the Ludian Science and Technology Research Institute.

 

According to the design of the project, the first-stage high-temperature flue gas waste heat power generation project that has been put into use can reach 2 MW, and the second and third phases will build another 6 MW generator set. After the completion of the project, the annual power generation can reach 67.2 million kWh, saving 19,400 tons of standard coal per year.

He Jun introduced that Ludian Group adopted the contract energy management mode to provide special energy-saving services for Longshan Carbon Co., Ltd. The power station was invested by Ludian Group with a total investment of 20 million yuan. The Ludian Group was under the custody for 5 years and the power station was 5 years later. All equipments belong to Longshan Carbon Co., Ltd.

 

He Jun said that the power and steam generated by the waste heat power station were sold to Longshan Company, and the surplus electricity was sold to the grid company. At present, the waste heat power station has stable power generation, which is mainly used by Longshan Company, and the revenue is shared by Ludian Company and Longshan Carbon Company.

 

The reporter understands that the contract energy management model allows customers to use future energy savings to upgrade their plants and equipment to reduce current operating costs. This model not only solves the problem of insufficient funds and technical shortages for enterprises to build waste heat power generation projects, but also makes reasonable use of the flue gas, exhaust gas and waste heat that are usually discarded, and the funds of the energy conservation company are properly operated. At present, this mode of cooperation is being used more and more widely in the waste heat power generation industry.
